Sadly, a Portamig is a little beyond the budget, so I'm considering the Pro 90; I have gleaned from the excellent tutorials on this site that I shall have the best chance on car panels (2cv, yes I know- you either do or you don't!))with less than 30amps , adjustable wire speed, non live torch thingy, and argon/CO2 gas and the Clarke machine can do all that. Thanks for reading this far(!) my questions are:
1/Can a different regulator for the larger rented bottles be fitted easily? (at £15 for 6 minutes, the tiny bottles will get v. dear as I suspect I'll be be needing to practice.....a lot.
2/Can the torch bit be upgraded if needed at some stage? I suppose the torch supplied will not be that brill(?).
3/Can the flow rate of the gas be controlled automatically by the machine or is it on/off at the trigger(?) and set at the bottle valve?
apologies if appearing a tad ignorant!
