Hello,
Got my TIG, my first project (after lots of practice runs) will be stainless water tanks for the boat.
The tanks will be rectangular in plan but sort of varaible in shape on the bottom to follow the boat hull. I will make a hardboard pattern first.
My main problem is construction.
I saw a tank which had round bars in the corners, maybe this would be easier to weld.? probably would be a fair bit heavier.
Corner to corner construction is the norm, is this difficult, especially as the plate will move as it heats up, the thickness would be say 1.6mm.
How do you hold stainless, corner to corner.?
thx
Howard
