It turns out I may not be getting a very favourable rate for the ESAB after all, I haven't sold one for a long time (we do sell a reasonable amount of consumable, that's how I've maintained access to the product) but from what I've gathered today it might well be possible for other busier ESAB agents to get much closer to the Polish prices if they so choose. This would make sense as I have lost out to the ESAB 2200i when going up against it with my EWM 230 for prices closer to £2500 than £3000. So there you go, maybe there is more on the table with the UK dealers than I first thought.
I'm not much of a fan of the machine also and neither are a few of my customers who bought them have later confessed to wishing they had stumped up the bit extra for the equivalent EWM I offered them but the ESAB name is still very well respected in certain circles and despite all their recent changes and troubles won't touch anything else.
