This thread will be documenting some of the refurbishment work of an Elliott Progress 3A pillar drill.
First things first, here is what I know about the Elliott Progress 3A drills.
B. Elliott and Co Ltd was founded in 1904 (source) and produced a range of drilling machines branded as ‘Progress’ drills (source).
The www.lathes.co.uk website has got some nice images showing the specifications of the Progress 3A drill.
I have found a manual covering the Elliott Progress No.1, No1.S, No.2G, No.2GS, No.3A, No.3E & No.5E drills.
It can also be downloaded on the Vintage Machinery website after registering.
Here are a couple of pictures of the drill from the manual.
The exploded parts diagram of the Elliott Progress 3A which I will refer to throughout the thread.
