I had a 240GLT estate, blue with blue interior, sold it at 260,000 miles, if you clocked it back to 50k & anyone looked inside they'd say that's nice for the mileage. The interior was bullet proof. I reckon it was the fastest tank ever built. I also had 2 240DL's they were total slugs in comparison.Volvo 240 glt . Great motors. Worked on them. Always wanted one. A blue one with beige interior.
They are heavy built old motors. Gearbox could develop a whine after a while. Until you find an inch of rust on the sill.MK3 transits...no matter what you did to them they could be back on the road the same day. engine swap,gearbox/clutch,rear diff,front subframe.

Then its three days of grinding, panel beating, and welding. Then repeat every six months.
