I can still remember the smell of leather in the cobblers on the local high street, used to go in with my parents when my dad had boots or shoes re-soled or my mom had her leather handbag re-stitched.
Don't involve me ...........cobblers
....sorry couldn't resist
Drill holes and use copper rivets
I remember my dad trying to save a few bob by gluing a piece of car tyre to his worn out wellies can't recall if it was a sucess.
Never went that far, used a fair few puncture repair patches on my wellies. Given up on wellies now, they don’t seem to last me long nowadays
Bought a pair of Hunters for shooting, first time out a briar opened them up like a hot knife through butter, had to put a vulcanised patch on it. Never bought another pair after that. That was 36yrs ago.
Thanks. I'm in London so will use them.https://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1247/51635.php
He does them in the shop. He did a pair of Timberlands for me last year.
Me too. "They'll be ready Thursday" I've got a rotary leather cutter and last from a closed-down cobblers. I use the cutter to make gaskets. I bought a sewing machine from the same place, great for when I was trimming my car.
