So built this last year and gave it a good running over winter and thought i should check it over this summer in time for winter. soon be here wont it.
Main part i was wanting to check was the riser tube. I used a 5mm walled mild steel tube. told not to but i had it and the first fire brick i attempted to do failed and wasnt for spending much more on the mix. .
Anyway, all looks good. even riser tube all intact.
Need to fit a thicker door seal, i knew i did during last winter but ill do it now. just double it up.
cleaned out and all sound
I am not sure if to move the secondary burn as it work but i know its not in the best place.
It went through one euro pallet in a 8-10hr day, which to me isnt bad. had it upto 480degC a third way up the on the side of the heat exchanger. fluw lax heat was 75deg at the bottom and to 55degC. at the top. happy with all that. It was a bit to warn at times so the better air flow plates worked i added after a few months
Ash door is spot an and easy. only empties it twice so show how much it burns the timber. Keep saying ill get some wingnuts for it but as yet i havnt so maybe another job to do.
Mite try melting lead this summer in the crucible older i made instead of the site glass. Need to make a flypress ball and fishing leads.
so overall very happy with it and enjoyed the build and outcome. to say it only cost me the fire rope/glue and glass
