Hi all,
Ive bought myself a nice Victoria universal dividing head, 4.75" centre height, both plates, full gear train, chuck, and all other associated bits (I think!) some of you may have seen the one on eBay.
Unfortunately when it arrived it had the wrong tailstock, a 5" centre height, fortunately the seller found what appeared to be the correct one, it matched a picture I found from lathes.co.uk.
It has arrived too and whilst it looks correct it is also a 5" centre height. Doh! At least it is a Victoria tailstock with vmt stamped on it.
It has no height adjustment it can be tilted, I assume this is for bumping it around a bit when indicating?
I'll go back to the seller again as he has many dividing heads but if needs be I assume it will be easily fixed by milling 1/4" off the Base? It looks like just a flycut finish on the bottom. I dont see why not but as im green I thought id better ask.
