Just getting my welding under control...1/2 way through my first project (subframes for my bucket seats...thread with pics to come soon) and then the car decides that metal fatigue would present me with a rather serious problem...
this pic shows where the lower anti torsion mount bracket for the pug 106 is welded to the chassis...well....was welded to the chassis...
beyond my skills/time available to repair at the moment, not to mention that I cant fit under it with a welding mask on, so its into a very good welder up the road next week to be welded back up and strengthened...plated and seam welded back on. Unfortunate thing is when it let go the engine tilted too far and mashed the inner CV joint on the new near side driveshaft too
thats the compromise....nippy car that handles well, but its made of swiss cheese. think the word bugger is approriate!
