Yes I think for that thickness that might be the best solution.I wouldn't think your template would last too long cutting that thickness. You could try this - use the undersize template you have to cut an oversize hole in say 4mm steel, then run round the inside of this hole to cut a template back to approximately the correct size in 4mmm steel.
Without starting an argument, What I meant was there's no need of the lazer profiling process, profiled flame cutting would be more than adequate.
cuOkay, I should have been less specific. 'Automatically cut to a pre-defined profile using a suitable cutting method' would have been better.
My view is biased by the fact that I have had parts laser cut locally for cheaper than I could make them myself, so there's no point haggling over plasma or flame cutting (In my case).
I'm guessing at the size of the part, but last parts I had cut in 12mm that were similar size were 25 quid each, based on qty 8.
