I posted up a while ago about what im intending to do and decided the welder for me was clarke 151te, am in position to get one now, but just reading a clarke manual and saw this.
B. MIGs 151TE and 160EN ONLY
Connect the mains lead, through a suitably fused isolator switch, to a 230 Volt
(50Hz) electrical supply, with a 15Amp fuse rating. A standard 13 Amp plug MUST
NOT be used with these welders.
What does this mean? Can i not just plug it in? (dumb question maybe aha)
Also what is basic difference of mig and tig??
Basically i need one for personal use and have just started uni doing motorsport technology and am doing a thing called formula student where you design build and race single seater race car, want to get a head start and learn to weld, but i think they use tig, so will my mig welding "skills" (basic at best) im hoping to gain be easily converted to tig?
Cheers,
Dom
