What is the correct plug to install onto the mains cable coming from a dual voltage welder?
If I use it on 110v, it pulls circa 32A so I need a big yellow 32A commando plug.
If I then want to use it on 230v, it will pull circa 16A, so a fly lead with yellow 32A commando socket and blue 16A commando plug would seem to be in order.
The problem with this is that the 32A commando plug makes the machine very bulky.
Fronius use a socket on the back of the machine with detachable leads (see ChuckE2001's video on the Accupocket). This looks similar to a Neutrik powercon connector, which is rated for 32A. I wonder if the machine could be modified to allow this.
Advice from anyone with a dual voltage machine is appreciated. Thanks.
