I am planning on making a number of small tool holders to use in my CNC router. The router is fitted with an ER20 spindle which runs up to 18,000RPM.
I plan on leaving the 1/2" collet fitted and making up small holder that will take 3,4,5,6mm and 1/8" and 1/4" bits.
This will enable me to use fixed length tooling and speed up tool changes.
Question is what to make them out of? I made one up years ago to enable me to use a 1/8" bit in a Dewalt router at the time. I made it out of brass.
This time I have brass, stainless, Chrome, Titanium, Drill rod and Alloyed mild steel available.
What would you use to make these holders?
