I have a huuuuge amount of bike cogs and chains that I want to clean so I can Tig weld them.
I have a tumbler made from a 20l blue barrel, and some ceramic media.
What would be the best degreasing/cleaning fluid?
White spirit
Red diesel
Paraffin/kerosene
Screwfix degreaser.
I'm looking at needing 10l minimum, I think, so red diesel is cheapest, but will it work?
I'm not going to use anything more volatile, like petrol, or acetone because of leakage/explosion risk.
And I no longer have access to industrial quantities of ammonia (I blame "breaking bad"!)
Ideally I want something which can be decanted, allowed to settle, and be reused a couple of times.
