Apologies if this has been posted before but I couldn't see anything.
I really like the compact 'hobby' torch that came with my 151TE, particularly its in-handle gas valve, and didn't want to go down the Euro torch conversion route, however I find the little M5 hobby tips heat up too much and can sieze in the end of the swan neck. I've already destroyed 2 swan necks as the threads in the end have disintegrated.
So I did the following to convert the exisiting swan neck to take M6 tips and push-on shrouds from the MB15 Euro torch.
Firstly take a RH hand threaded MB15 tip adaptor.
Then saw off the end of the hobby swan neck 3mm in front of the M8 threaded part that normally hold the screw on shroud (remove from torch first as you don't want to cut the liner..).
Finish the cut end neatly as this will form the gas seal inside the tip adapter.
Although the tip adapter is M8 RH threaded and appears to be of the same pitch as the threads on the swan neck I found it too tight a fit so ran an M8x1.25 tap carefully into it, which made it a perfect fit.
Nip up the tip adapter on to the swan neck, rebuild the torch, fit an M6 tip and push on an MB15 shroud and you're good to go.
New parts and old swan neck and the finished article:
