rotten Morris Minors R me

I weld rusty/rotten classic cars, and occasionally venture up to thicker metal like Land Rover chassis. It's only for fun but it can take up every weekend and evening for 6 - 8 weeks or so every year.
After 18 years of struggling with a Migmate 130 turbo, it is getting worse and I'm beyond my tether. Occasionally it crackles (works) instead of pop pop pop pop (not working).
When it works I have less than a second to get penetration before a big hole appears.
I have 2 weeks left to rebuild a Minor pick up and it's not happening. This weekend's efforts looked far more like pidgeon poop than ever before, and I'm using max power without getting penetration on 1.4mm steel
Is it worth upgrading to 150A? (my 130A used to do this fine, so do I gain anything by going for 150??)
People here like Clarke - so does a friend of mine - therefore should I just buy a Clarke or is it worth also looking at Sealey??
Also I need one ASAP (i.e. within a few days - any tips or just go for Machine mart?)
