Not really....for a business at least...
We find that once brushes have worn, on the ones we use at least, something else isn't that long behind, gearbox bearings are usually next... brushes, £5, bearing kit another £5/6 May as well replace the lead thats melted and cut whist your in there... Hour to strip, clean, repair, pat test... plus £10-£15 of parts... thats best part of £60...
We pay £70 for the grinders....
Get a shiny new one out and run it on for another 2 years trouble free.
Sure, but I meant when I pull them out of the bin I have unlimited time to fettle them, loads of spare parts, sometimes I've kept tools for 5 years until I find a cheap or free spare part, plus I don't have to PAT test them. Businesses can't do that, except some hire firms who do have a repair workshop.
