I have had my Rtech P50 for getting on for a year and am quite happy with it.
I have always found that the pink ceramic thingy gets in the way of seeing what is going on, especially when I have students in and they are new to the game.
A couple of months back I tried using it without the ceramic.
Great, I can see what is going on. Since then I have done heaps of plasma work without the ceramic and cant see any damage to the torch. So I have stopped bothering with them.
My old Hobart had nothing like that. So what are they for?
if you are having difficulties cutting by hand to a tight line try without the ceramic.
Probably as much use as the stand off springs.
