Evening people,
First of all, my congrats on a very helpful and informative site. Im a 54yr old engineer of some 30+ years experience but never really welded as part of my work for most of that time. I started as a 16yr old apprentice welder building road tankers but then moved on to electrics. Decided to go back to self-employment so wanted to hone the skills again.
My problem, I cant see the weld-pool, the plate, the joint, the target in general. I have a standard fixed shade which I think is a 10. Its like looking thru bitumen on a dark night in a coal cellar full of black cats.. with no light. Plenty of arc-light but sod all else.As I seem to remember when I was 16, Im sure I could see more of the target than I am seeing now.
Would a variable visor help ?
Or is it mee...
