As above but might not be able to use the original start / stop / NVR .
Thanks guys.
Is it costly to get the extra gubbins besides the motor.
Sure a sparkie will advise, but it ought to need just one of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_....H0.XNVR+switch.TRS0&_nkw=NVR+switch&_sacat=0
Assuming he already has a vfd... if not then it's going to be more than six quid

note removing the belt pulley is not easy to do on the motor you can break it so ive read whilst removing to fit onto another motor
also fitting 240v motor onto it but fitting 3 phase later
Even with swopping the whole motor out? [and rewiring]

The 3hp is too fast for the drill as well.7
Brain wave time.
I have a spare 1hp 1450rpm and 3hp 2450rpm. 3 to big for a drill ?
I have the wiring from a compressor that I could use.?
And use a switc as slim boy suggests.
a 1hp is well adequate for a drill as for wiring depends on what u want to spend. a basic 0n off switch will do the job cheap u might be able to use the existing if it hasn't a latching mechanism
i used to buy half hp motors for less than 30 quid. since ebay the skies the limit on what people are prepared to pay and how quick u want it
