Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum and looking for some advice. I have been bending metal brackets cold for use on a motorcycle project. I have finally got around to buying a 19KG Calor Gas propane bottle for a heat source. I have measured the plastic male plug protecting the female thread on the bottle. It was 21mm OD so I am assuming that this is 1/2 BSP. Am I correct? I have searched the forum being diverted onto many interesting threads but not found the answer. I want to buy a plugged regulator, a number advertised that they fit standard propane bottles but don't state the thread size. Whilst looking at Regulators I see that some are 1/2 BSP and others 5/8 BSP.
My intention was to buy a cheap torch kit from Ebay, but having searched on here I am minded that I might wish to attempt something more than heating at a later date. I did a night school introduction to welding course a couple of years ago which covered basics.
I am sure that this will be the first of many questions as I have also purchased a used Clarke 151EN Turbo mig welder.
Looking forward to your replies.
Cheers Jack
