hi all
read through lots and lots of questions/answers so wanted to check a few things b4 i bite the bullet
ive dabbled using my dads snap on welder,no idea which model but its pretty old about 10 yrs and i think the feed inner cable is worn,as i cant seem to get on with it and the wire tends to tangle up and get caught, although my dad who is a panel beater seems to use it ok!
rather than always borrowing his i want buy my own for car restoration, hobby not full time job
ive decided on either a mid priced clarke either 135 or 151 TE or most likely the 160TE as this comes with a regulator for the bigger bottles of gas
or possibly going for a Portamig 181,not found a definite place to get one of these hoping you could give a price inc P+ P weldequip for either the 160 or the 181
thanks
although its a big hike in cost, will i find it much easier to use than the clarke,i was tempted as one of the cars is a renault with very thin steel so the portamig is handy having a 20 amp setting
(i will be using it on the big C02 pub gas bottles)
sam old question really what one should i buy out the two and is the portamig twice as good as a clarke
thanks
matt
