Heya guys and girls,
I'll get to the point in a while, just wanted to say hello from sunny england[if you can call it that, as it's bloody raining again] and that I'm new to the forum, so nice to meet you all and hope to hear more from you all soon, theirs plenty of time as I will be hanging around now for months, even years.
In time I'm sure you'll all be more then fed-up with my silly questions, hehe
I live in the east midlands of England a town called Northampton, I'm 28 ex-armed forces, and setting up my own workshop it's half way between my bedroom and the garden shed to be honest depending on what I need to get done. I've been trying to set out or start-up a small self-employment type of business for myself primarily building cycle frames, trailers, and their associated parts like wheel hubs, forks.
I would also like to offer my services to people whoever they may be for things like welding up parts of their cars to pass MOTs, building gates anything really that will come along
I also build pulsejets, that's another reason for me using more exotic materials and one of the main reasons for me buying an AC/DC TIG setup
I've done some MIG in the past but as my work will entail me more to work with materials such as Aluminium, Titanium, Zirconium, Niobium along with Stainless Steels and other types of super alloys AC/DC TIG is going to be much better for me in the long run, I'm not minted by any means and am currently unemployed hence why trying to go it alone eBay seems to be able to find me plenty of off cuts or sections of materials I would be using and a good place to get to know other material handlers
In a couple of weeks, more like five after I've saved up some monies I'm going to be purchasing these items from Shop-River, I've been communicating with them via email on eBay for a week or so now and they seem like honourable fellows with some good equipment that will allow me to work my way up to buying a nice Miller setup, which is something I've always wanted!
Below you'll find the Welder, a new helmet and a new Argon regulator along with the eBay item numbers, now don't all go out and purchase these items as I've first got to save up and get them myself
Jasic WSE200P 350114604367
Argon regulator 130297274238
Helmet 130297868975
I've also been onto SilverLine they sell semi good metal working tools and I've got a new drill press, scroll saw, bench grinder along with another load of bits I'm going to be needing to set myself up on the cheap for the first year or so
So anyway that's the intro kind of sorted, it's nice to meet you all and like I said I'll be hanging around like a drip getting to know you all as we go along
I'd like to if I could chat to other TIG welders who have worked with more exotic materials and super alloys to see how they've done and gone around things for the mean time it will mainly be Aluminium, Titanium & Stainless Steels for the bicycles the more super alloys will come into play with my small pulsejet engines of which I'm hoping I could sell online to other enthusiast's
Kind regards,
MajorPayne
