We still cope without CNC ;-) On some jobs at least. Skilled operator who cares what he is doing is the answer. Unskilled operator, setter or programmer, can still cock it up with CNC.
We get to deal with some weighing ounces, through to 10 tonnes or more. Got to design it right so there is machining access, strong enough to allow machining, and sensibly enough regarding G&T.
I did like the counter balanced lift into the furnace ;-) Not sure we'd be allowed that now - had to have special lifting frame made to assemble our latest machine.
