After a few suggestions if anyone has some - I don't do a whole lot of bodywork finishing - anyway, I've some aluminium panels I need to get straight prior to painting, the last time I did it I just used an acid etch primer, then normal polyester filler skim, and then a single stage topcoat.
It stood up okay but looked a little sorry after couple of years with stonechips. So this time I was going to run with an epoxy primer, get everything straight and then get a local firm to to put a metallic topcoat and clear on it.
Problem is I need to filler some area's where getting it straight in the metal would be a nightmare - so, does anyone have any recommendations for filler that will work straight onto the aluminium (I was thinking about just mixing some epoxy with aluminium powder, but there must be a few on the market) - or should I epoxy prime it first and then just use normal filler?
