Hollo all,
I was just watching a BOC 170p on the bay, and I wanted to know if they are any good or not what do they weld like etc., 'cos I thought a 'portable' welder might be of some use to someone, rather than lugging a larger/heavier one around!
If it's in good nick it should weld really nice, but check the lower end amperage, some of the BOC/Murex ones only go down to 40 A output. This is no bother when you are using the stitch facility, but may need a bit more skill handling it manually.
Mind you, I'd sooner try my luck on thin stuff with a BOC/Murex at a low of 40 A, than a Sealey at 35 A, having used both.
Hello Keith19
Why are they any good? How much do they retail for? what did you expect it to go for? Oh and who is it actually made by BOC? Cos if 'tis any good i'll look out for one meself!
