Many thanks Richard for the tig welding lesson today. You were very patient and made the lesson to suit me.
My travel speed needed addressing as I was rushing to get it over with. Once identified I produced some nice welds.
I also tried thick to thin 0.8 to 3mm plate with varying gaps to fill. I still need lots of practice but I now have the principles to keep trying after several holes burnt, tungstens dipped and filler rods stuck.
Fillets seemed to be the joint that suited me best. I managed to produce this shortly before the end. Not bad considering I've only done 2 hours or so welding before today.
