Hi,
I am looking to buy my first mig and would value the advice from members of this forum. It will be used mainly for my car and will not get heavy use. From reading these forums it would appear that it’s better to have a powerful machine doing less work than to have a smaller machine working near its top range which I took to mean I should be looking at migs offering a range of 30amp minimum (fixed) to around 140amps plus. I also prefer to have the inverter type as they are lighter and therefore easier to lift and carry.
I understand I will get what I pay for and quality costs but I would welcome your comments on my thoughts so far.
Option 1 Rtech I mig 180

This has a lot of positive reviews. Its £495 delivered but its hard to justify the expense on something which would get limited use.
Option 2 CWS 160i mig welder

Very few reviews, but a very detailed and positive review on this site This would be £430.39
Option 3 IFL i-tech-mig 150
http://www.inverterfusion.co.uk/i-tech-mig150/
No reviews of this model but some positive comments about the brand and its £393 delivered
Option 4 Sealey imig 180 ( £387.95) or imig 160 (£349.99)

No reviews of these models but the brand appears to sell well.
I have contacted some the above suppliers and these were the buy it now prices (some offered a very marginal discount). I was told the selling prices before Christmas are no longer available because of Brexit / Exchange rates with the dollar and this has lead a to a “20% hit” in their profit margins.
Unfortunately my wage has not increased; therefore my question is which one of these machines, or other brands represents the best value for money at today’s prices.
