Hello Folks,
Spent a day and half stripping one of two metal garage doors I want to repaint and its been tough going once I run out of some old nitromors I had sitting in the garage. I went and got another tin of "new and improved formula" nitomors which didn't work copmared to the old stuff!!! Then I see a thread here about how crap the new stuff is. Note to self, check forum before starting work!
Anyway one of the doors is totally bare metal now and I would like some pointers on the best primers to use. I have gone all over the surface with a 230 grit to make a key and was thinking of a red oxide but I see a lot of support for epoxy here on the forum - Is that any good in this type of application? I have spray equipment so could spray as opposed to brush or roller but don't have any experience of choosing the correct paint types for this sort of work. The top colour is going to be white. Any assistance in getting the paint right for the best finish and durability will be eagerly accepted.
Thanks
RB
