Hi all,
Practicing running beads on 3mm mild steel old square post. I'll let the experts here mark it but feel I am getting good penetration with 3.2mm rods and 107 amps on my Sifweld TS200 AC/DC machine using AC current.
But my 'ridges' seem really stretched out rather than semi-circles.
Tried changing voltage up & down 7 amps each way
Tried differing angle of rod
Tried (on the other side of this post) fast & slow.
So I can see the difference on these but still can't get nice semi-circles.
Is there something simple i'm missing here? It seems like it must be getting too hot, I can't get back on the machine today but it's bugging me so thought i'd post this to stop me going mad... maybe I need to turn down the amps even more, was 7 not enough to step down?
