Ok guys, I have been shopping and have bought me a plasma cutter and a dc tig.
After lots of careful consideration I decided I just could not warrant spending lots of cash on these machines as I am only a hobbyist and auto repairer.
The plasma will be used mainly for thin auto gauge steel, with the occasional bit of 3-5mm steel too.
I wanted the tig mainly just to learn the technique and to weld the odd bit of stainless for exhausts, I can never see myself needing to weld aluminium so have no real need for an AC unit.
After lots of careful studying of the units available on ebay I chose the two units below, I was originally looking at a 3 in 1 machine offered by the same seller but decided to buy the two seperate units because the tig welder in the 3 in 1 unit was very basic and was only 120A.
Both units seem very well made, which surprised me as they seem to get a lot of bad press on here, they both came with 16A plugs fitted and all the cabling is very heavy duty.
I will plug them in over the weekend and report back.
