One of my grinders is a trusty B&D KG11, I've had it at least 25yrs.
Many of the B&D grinders of that era had a removable cable with a special fitting on the end. I had one where the insulation broke but fortunately I had kept the cable from a burnt out unit. That cable has always been a little short and restrictive so I looked for a replacement. There were full cables about that cost quite a bit but then I found you can now buy a genuine rewireable replacement. It's a nice unit, slightly longer than the original moulded one but has a nice long rubber strain relief. It has also meant I was able to use some rubber flex on it. I had some 3 core 1.5mm on the end of a roll and it fits lovely, only live and neutral used although I did fit the earth in the plug end for cable damage protection.
It does list specific models and mine wasn't on the list but it fits perfectly
