I've just got that model, but wondered what number yours is that won't accept bigger than 3ah,as you said yours is older .I have the older non brushless Makita version,
Wont accept bigger than a 3 amp battery as its an older model,
Bought it cheap as a bare tool from a guy at work for about £20 if i remember so it dont owe me much,
Yes its battery hungry but can be handy for the odd job but only use it where theres no power supply.
If you look into the base of your grinder after you remove the battery theres an icon, a star or something similar?I've just got that model, but wondered what number yours is that won't accept bigger than 3ah,as you said yours is older .
btw I'm well pleased with it ,just for short regular bursts of use the convenience is---convenient.
Mine is 5"Like Richard I am on the brushless matabo. Only I run 7". Bears the pants of the makita cordless I use at a customers. Runs out too quickly by far. With three 4 amp hi dencity batterys I can use the grinder and the hammer drill pretty much all day on a fit.
