I've discovered that parts of the exhaust on the Crusty Honda* are no longer available in the UK, and think they only way to get it through an MOT without spending more than it's worth is going to be to DIY...
there's a T-section I'll need to make, going from 48mm to two 42mm pipes, at the mo I'm thinking I should buy a pair of 42mm tight 90-degree bends and siamese them onto a stub of 48mm, trying to work out what'll need to be cut away and TIGged together again.
Slit one arm of the 42mm bends so that each piece will wrap around half of the 48mm, beat the hell out of them to flare to a half-pipe of 48mm and cope them together where the two bends diverge? The Jommetry is making my head ache. Anyone know of templates / software / Technical Drawing routes to draw them up? I fear I might have to find the Sheet And Plate Metalwork book I got in the charity shop Some Decades Ago.
*20 year old Accord 2.4 estate - can get parts for the saloon, but of course they're different. Grrr.
