& all the while i thought metro's were just thrown together!We used induction heating to cure the sealant between door skin and inner frame on the Metro. Used 10mm square watercooled copper bars shaped to the profile of the doors, can't remember the power required but it was a 3 phase 160A supply. Made by Radyne.
Also used it to heat pistons to allow gudgeon pin to be fitted in the engine plant.

thats a good job then . i ran up the back of one years ago in an astra van and hit about at about 30mph the van sort of survived but the car was wrote off and the back bumper was pushed up to the back wheels me boss was none 2 happy and i wasnt where i was supposed to beYes they're considered a joke now, but when they first came out they were near the top in safety and aerodynamics.
