hi
I have a Clarke 135 te and I'm trying to recycle and weld up some ex school railing (pre ww2 war steel) 16 mm solid bar and 40 mm x6 mm (or there abouts ) of flat bat . I've chopped them down to size and cleaned up but I'm going to hell and back welding the railheads on .... I can't find a sweet spot at all im burning away shrouds so I'm guessing I'm running too hot or touching parent metal ?
I have the welder set to 2 max and wire speed set to a midges nat over 7 .... just wondering if it's technique or asking to much from a hobby set .
Regards
Malc
