I'd posted in the Clarke forum,I've got a copy of the Machine Mart catalogue and said to myself-"I can afford the 175,but I'll ask advice if there are any known problems with them."
Weldequip kindly answered, saying that they are a good machine and maybe consider the Butters 170 and 1800.
So,I've spent a bit of time wandering the web,and now I'm more confused than ever!
The Butters machines apparently have a poorly made feed mechanism, but are good enough for fixing up old cars..but for a bit more money..streeeeeeeeeeetching the budget to breaking point ...migtigarc have MTA 181 machines which are apparently a good bit better for £399+vat.
Life was so much simpler when there were fewer choices.
Trouble is,since moving to Ireland, the postage is crippling.A smaller set costs less to post, but I want to get something really good.
Decisions,decisions..........food or welder...............
