I have various lengths of scrap steel bars, rods, reinforcing bar etc. Each has a 'flying lead' attached and is wrapped in cheap tool drawer lining from Lidl/Aldi. I drop them into 'closed' members - the drawer lining is an adequate electrical insulation preventing short circuits and the perforations in it allow enough 'line of sight' to clean the item internally. Copper wire attachment to sacrificial anode needs regular repair/replacement
Very nice ツ
I was just going to restort to hot caustic soda, but didn't want to spend the money and time setting up a heater.
Back to my chassis, I will see how I get on with heat gun, acid and surface prep tools to strip it. I might give up and just go for pro stripping + galvo.
It's wierd that the galvenisers all wanted hundreds to do the chassis, but people on forums are saying they just pay per kg without getting an up front quote and it works out super cheap. I'm also down south where I don't think there are many galvanisers left.
