For me the hacksaw has taken a bit of a back seat since they got their act together with quality thin discs, that said a cheap hacksaw blade is still to be avoided on the grounds of saftey. Nothing worse than have one explode into a thousand pieces when you lean on it slightly, to me thats worse than a bendy blunt one. As the above mentioned quality ones every time now.

put a dab of rocol cutting compound on your blade. blades last longer and it cuts a lot faster with no friction if your clumsy use bi metal blades if careful just use all hss ones
