Had to switch over to Lincoln 170i at the weekend as the wire feed on the trusty old Cebora 185 packed up (will start seperate thread on that)
Anyway, forgotten what a nice welder it is, so might keep it as my permanent bodywork unit. Only issue is it feels like it has an earth fault or continuity fault - not sure how to describe it but....
1. If you touch the wire to bodywork with no trigger pressed you get a spark like it is earthing (just a spark not an arc)
2. With the trigger pressed and welding if you touch the metal shroud on the torch to the bodywork it sounds like the machine is overloading and trying to arc from the shroud.
Now, I guess it isn't supposed to do this but not really into the electricery of welders (yet) so any suggestion on the issue/where to go investigate?
Cheers,
MM
