I have salvaged one of my wifes old electric scooters and used the motor to make a welding turntable. Its worked our great as a manual one so far but electronically its got me confused.
1. I am using a 12 volt supply instead of batteries for now.. That might change. BUT it needs two supplies for some reason. You cant just use one 12 volt supply as it does not fire up the electronics. cant really understand why.
2. I am trying to lower the speed. I might be trying the impossible as its loosing torque at the lower speeds already. There are two speed controls. One on the finger control I will be altering to foot pedal. and one on the speed pot which controls the top speed. That works by limiting top speed and low speed by the same extent. I was hoping to just add a resistor in line as that Pot is 25k and attached in series on two pot connections only.....but I have been told that might not work.
Any suggestions appreciated.
