Hi all new to the site and after having a look about it seams like a nice bunch with a good insight to the world of welding.
Ok now last week some thieving little blighters decided to break in to my garage and clear it out. Amongst the items stolen was 1 of my welders. The unit in question was the Clarke 220TE.
Now I never really liked this machine as I feel the build quality and characteristics where not so good compared to some other machines!
The insurance company are going to pay me rather than replacing the welder like for like. So my question is can anyone recommend what to go for.
I mainly use the machine for car body work through to light fabrication work such as chassis (5 - 6mm) and very occasionally get into slightly heavier stuff (maybe up to 10mm)
Machines I have been thinking about:
Thermal arc Fabricator (200 or 250)
Oerlikon Citoline 2000M
Lincoln Electric Powertec 191c
R-TECH I-MIG200
I also looked at the Draper 180A but it has a start rating of 40amp that might be a little high!
So could anyone shed any light on any of these machines of suggest something in this region (sub £750ish mark)
Thanks
