where would i go to have some kind of weld on name tags made, i want something i can weld onto custom parts i build for people just something small as not to add lots of expense just to add my name to it
We have our logo laser cut into mild steel tags 150 x 50mm and weld them to some of the stuff we make. No reason why it couldnt be done in ally. Cheapish too if you get a few.
to be honest at the moment im really struggling to keep up with work so cant afford to be spending any extra time on the jobs , will definatly look at laser cutting guess i would have to get something designed first tho
I think i just emailed our profilers our logo as a JPEG and they messed around with it and sent me something back to look at. We get them done FOC but we give them loads of work. Laser cut will look very professional.
Generalising (as there's a few exceptions) i dislike tags as much as stickers personally. With polished ally and stainless my personal favorite is masking and then sandblasting for a subtle look. Some of the electrochemical weld cleaning machines also offer etching functions (dark & light marking), kit is spendy though. Dunno if all companies offer it but the profile cutter i use can laser etch too
an alternative I saw once on alloy instead of etching was someone had stickers made which left out the name of the company and they just used course scotch brite on it removed the sticker and it left the name/emblem on the alloy in the scothbrite finish kind of cheap diy etching.
