hi all..
After reading the basic guide on here to Aluminium Tig welding ( with thanks to Richard ) I used those settings and with only a tiny tweak here and there found success ...
the puddle was beautiful clean and shiny silver with a nice flow to the puddle etc.
I did come unstuck though when with the same settings I wished to Tig two 3mm think pieces together to make a 6 mm piece.. when I welded the long edge even with foot pedal control I found the two edges were melting away quicker than I could add filler rod... I had upped the argon and once pedal was going reduced the amps but no joy..
Is this a situation for chill blocks or just something I’m doing wrong?
Sorry don’t know why but I’m struggling to upload pics at mo probably something to do with phones annoying insistence on software update..
Many thanks ..
