Hello
I purchased an air raid siren that wasn't working and I knew it would be something simple so I got it at a cheap price. When I got it home I found that the pin that attaches the handle Shaft to the gears had sheered. I did some research and found it is a common problem with my make of siren. I made a new pin with some mild steel to see if it would work and it does. I wanted to know if I could use a different material to improve on the original pin which was also mild steel. Would a stainless or a tool steel be a better choice?
Thanks for your help
