Right so i decided after all my info id try make one. Main shaft is 12mm, i got hydrolic tube 12mm I/D and 16mm O/D. I had to run a 13mm bit up the sleeve as it would not slide over,it makes a great snug fit though. Welded a ball on top for a cap and using the ballbearing method for spinning. I welded pieces of 6mm bar together to form the letters. I bought 2mm mild steel sheeting to cut out the letters and i just couldnt, a nightmare of a job so this is what i done. Im going to have to buy my profile as i want a huntsman and dog and if i couldnt cut a letter i surley wouldnt manage a profile. I have one lined up but its made from 5mm steel 400x385, it seems heavy and i dont know if it will effect the vane. Cardinal bars are 10mm x 200 long, letters are 100mm high and 75mm wide. Total width incl letters are 22" and il probably make the arrow around 24"-26" in total tip to tail. It will be viewed 90% of the time from the right so thats why the letters are the way they are. Il update when i have another bit done.
