Hi.My english is not very well, but i need help.Im not sure if i can plug my welding machine murex tradesmig (3-phase 400/415 volts) to 3-phase 380 volts.Thank you.
On the Murex machines at work, if you remove the covers there is a connector block where you can move the links to accomodate different input voltages - have a look at yours, there should be a label of some sort showing how to set the links.
It looks like you can change input voltage, they have not marked the label though.
Try contacting www.murexwelding.co.uk with your model details and ask for the correct connections to make.
in the UK over the years i have seen appliances marked 220, 230, 240, and 250 volts. They all seem to work fine on the standard household 240 volts from the mains. 380v and 400v are close enough, unless someone here who knows more says not to?
Should work. It's entirely possible for a 415V supply to only deliver 380V if you put a very long lead on it. I've seen as low as 330V from running a couple of hundred metrs of lead.
380, 415 and 400 is all the same. That is the nominal value give or take a tolarance hitch has changed over the years. E.g. we used to be 240V but we are ow 230V (sqare root 3 of phase voltage).
