3M Speedglas faulty?

Have a brand new speedglas helmet, its not the all singing all dancing one, simply turn it on and weld.

But, its reacting but then the reacting reverts, keeps doing it whilst i was trying to TIG weld yesterday, Had to stop after one weld as its unusable, is this normal, did find some information on google about faulty ones. Good thing i never brought it.

I'll be taking it back to work tomorrow to swap it, and bringing my trusty ESAB mask home.

Make sure you're not blocking the sensors on the front of the helmet, Also make sure the sensitivity and delay are turned up. Some helmets struggle with TIG especially at low amps.

Have you got the sensitivity set correctly?

Even though its new, Check the batteries.

It only has an on button. Not sure on the actual model. I'll change the batteries. I did think about blocking but shouldn't have been an issue as it was right in front of me.
