I've just finished the last of my disposables that I bought with my MIG welder, and just started to use a refillable CO2 bottle from my local Air Products stockist.
(it's one of these these )
It fits the regulator that came with the MIG welder, and seems to be an affordable solution for a bit of casual welding whilst learning.
I've always unscrewed the regulator from the disposable bottles after each work session, as read on this forum that they leak otherwise.
Should I be doing this with the 1KG bottle as well?
I disconnected it for the first time last night, and seemed to lose quite a bit of gas (enough to fill the palm of my welding gauntlet with "snow").
Should I disconnect each time, leave it connected, or buy a better regulator that I can leave on? At the moment it can be weeks between my welding attempts, and don't want to come back to an empty bottle.
Cheers
Steve
