The DIY machines have a notoriously bad press for the wire feed mechanisum, I have a SIP 130 Weldmate and it's well......rubbish realy, but it's what I could afford at the time, so it'll have to do 'till something better turns up.
There are numerous upgrades and modifications that people have done to them, infact there is a whole thread on here about it.
Is yours more of a professional machine then? Being a 195 amp would've thought so (semi-pro to pro), perhaps the electronics and feed mechanisum is of better quality than the lower spec machines.
yeah wire feed is a slight issue, I thought however it was just this one, hmmm.
195 semi pro - pro, well I had never used a machine below 350 amp since I started mig, so when the 250 ran cold and shorted out I'd all but written the smaller ones off. but the the 195 puts in a nice 8mm fillet easily, the rollers are different though. It is an older one. found it in the old workshop covered in dust loaded with ER70s-6 aws 0.8mm on straight argon any idea why
